? Saying “I Love You” – December 2022 Newsletter Message

2023-02-03T22:20:29+00:00

This is from my December Monthly Newsletter Message. ????? February's Message will be " "What Would Love Do." Sign-up to Receive it. You Can Read Past Ones there too. The words I love you are very powerful. They touch the heart of the recipient. However, not everyone can say the words. They may feel love for the other, but cannot bring themselves to express it verbally. Its as if the words are stuck in their throat. Saying I love you is often learned from our birth family as it may have been normal to regularly say the words. And even for those who grew up in a family where saying I love you wasn’t the norm, we may still be able to verbally express love later in life – if we have a strong enough heart connection. The stronger our heart connection, the more we can feel love in our hearts and come from a place of love, and the easier it is to express love – in all its ways, including verbally. The More Love We Feel in Our Hearts, the Easier it Is For Us to Express Love – Including Words The purest form of saying I love you comes from our heart-space and being unafraid to be vulnerable. Saying I love you makes us vulnerable because we are opening our hearts – and the other may not reciprocate the love we are expressing. But the purest form of expressing love to another requires no reciprocation. However, most of us get hurt feelings or confused if another does not reciprocate our expressions of love. Sometimes they may not feel it, but most likely, the other has not returned the feelings because they cannot. Still, even if it feels awkward to say the words or it makes you feel uncomfortable or vulnerable, uttering them will benefit you greatly. Our Words Are Powerful. They Are Like Mantras Mantras are valuable because they anchor the meaning of the words into our being – into our heart-space. The more often we make an effort to connect to or express love, the more we connect to our heart-space. And the more we connect to our heart-space, the easier it is to express love – in all its forms. (See my blog post The Qualities of Love) Words are most powerful when felt deeply in our hearts. But even words whispered to ourselves or forced words voiced have benefits – because we are making an effort. The “fake it till you make it” concept has value. So, if you are uncomfortable saying I love you to others, there are many ways to get the energy of it in you – so that you can override any blocks to verbally expressing your love. This - and my February message are excerpts from my upcoming book, Relationship Intelligence ... – due out later this Winter. Reader Reviews: Why We Are the Way We Are

Reader Reviews Why We Are the Way We Are (the 1st book in my 'Our Journeys to Peace' Series). (Reviews Below + info on upcoming Books 2 and 3 of this series) ????? So Much Wisdom in Each Chapter! I was attracted to this book from the moment I read the content list. What you find in each chapter is pure wisdom. I enjoyed the entire book and will read it over and over again. Very enlightening! ~ Mar, Amazon Review This Book May Help You Regain or Strengthen Your Connection to Spirit I have read many good books on Spirituality and this one stands right up there along with them. I agree with the author when she states that psychology has a lot to do with Spirituality: "What is held within the recesses of our unconscious mind may block the flowing connection to Spirit". This book is well written and flows easily. It is meant to be read slowly in order to ponder the concepts brought forth. This is a book I will read again and again. I highly recommend it to anyone brave enough to explore their unconscious mind.  ~ A. ?“I Choose Me” A Mantra to Help Us Overcome …. March 2022 Newsletter

2022-04-25T18:59:30+00:00

I Choose Me is the theme of my  March 2022 Newsletter Message.  Sign up to Receive or to Read Past Messages ????? To be happy, balanced, in control of our emotions, and feel empowered in life it is vital that we consciously choose what will support us maintaining – or bringing about – our sense of peace, happiness, contentment, balance, and empowerment. Some of us almost always innately choose what will support our peace and happiness:  We are adept at choosing ourselves. Others of us fall into disempowering attitudes and behaviors amidst change, disappointment, or when life gets difficult, and we no longer choose what will support us being our best self. We allow outside forces to dictate our life. There are many ways we can Choose Me. And there is more than one level of Choosing Me.  The is a Surface Level of “Choosing Me;” There is also a More Subtle Level of “Choosing Me” The Surface Level of “Choosing Me”  Most of us have now learned that to be happy and contented we must … ?Do what WE want in life – not what others or society decides is right for us. ?Say NO – when what others or society expects from us stresses or depletes us ?Align ourselves with positive and supportive people and uplifting activities so that we maintain or attain a positive mind frame ?Remove ourselves – from others who are negative or embrace drama that mess with our energy/vibration – and from situations out of our control that bring us down. *** ***(We can still act to help others, but to stay positive and light-hearted we must do so without blame, judgment, or drama). ????? This is an excerpt from my upcoming book, Overcome Your Unconscious Influences, such as Anger, Frustration, Hurt Feelings, and Blaming Others for Your Unhappiness (Book 2 of my ‘Our Journeys to Peace’ Series) – due out Summer 2022.  About My Books And as well as my spiritual/personal development writing, I also offer a variety of   Writing Services ????? The More Subtle Level of “Choosing Me” We all have days when a quick-fix-pick-me-up is just what the doctor ordered. Small indulgences like: ?Spoiling ourselves with that special desert ?Cozying up all day on the couch with a book ?Splurging on an extravagant meal ?Going on a shopping spree ? Binging a tv show  ?Having an all-night gaming session ?Soaking leisurely in the bathtub Spoiling ourselves just a little is often all we need to improve our mood when we have had a bad day or a disappointment. It is empowering. Of course, turning to meditation, prayer – or any spiritual practice, talking to a loved one, or spending extra time in nature is the healthiest way to deal with unexpected disappointing events. Still, spoiling ourselves – just a little is usually harmless and can be a simple pick-me-up. Spoiling our self – giving our self a little love – when something unwanted has happened makes us feel good. Plus, it allows our unconscious to work in its subtle ways to heal the negative energy attached to whatever has happened. And as long as this is a one-day (or [...]

Creating Feelings of Contentment – January 2022 Newsletter Message

2022-02-03T22:34:20+00:00

Feeling contented helps us weather life's ups and downs more easily. ?Sign-up for My Newsletter - and  read my past messages at:  Sign up for My Newsletter ? I also offer a variety of writing services, see My Writing Services Page There are many ways to get to a place of feeling contented, with the most obvious one being from externals, such as ... - Getting the job, reaching a goal, or becoming successful. These give us a sense of accomplishment, bringing feelings of contentment. - Moving into a house, finding the perfect partner, or starting a family also brings feelings of contentment, however … For Most of Us, Feelings of Contentment  that Come from Outside of Ourselves Is Fleeting  ? ?  ? Contentment That Comes from Within – From the Depths of Our Being – Has More Staying Power Once the newness of what we accomplished or have gotten has worn off, we seem to need to reach for the next thing. The wanting, satisfying, and wanting again trap humans fall prey to is one of the major reasons that true and lasting contentment eludes us. ? ?  ? All my writing is based on themes from my books: Your Journey to Peace …,  and Why We Are the Way We Are, See below for info on My Upcoming Books, Overcome Your Unconscious Influences…, and Relationship Intelligence … ? ?  ? This month's message was inspired by a friend's recent question on a Facebook post – and my answer. Traci asked: "What is one good thing you are experiencing even with the times we are in?" My answer (which came to me quickly) was: "I'm feeling even more contented than usual – even though I've had some tough times lately, and I feel blessed for all those who helped me get there. And I realize that there is nothing much else that beats the feeling of being content." Since that day, I've been pondering where that sense of contentment came from. I realized that it came from a combination of: ? *Loving the Holiday Season ? **Making peace with recent disappointments ? ***Appreciating what was now good ? ****And partaking in three powerful meditations with Allison Carol Blackburn just before and between Christmas and New Year. ? ?  ? ? *Loving the Holiday Season (or any other Celebration) – is an easy one because … Embracing the Spirit of Celebrations Heightens Our Senses Allowing Contentment to Grow in Our Being ? **Making Peace with Disappointments (*or True Forgiveness as taught by A Course in Miracles. See below for a fuller explanation). I had been feeling disappointed that my extended family could not attend my usual brunch (it wasn't the numbers but more distance and the many commitments the young adults had). Slowly, as the week went on, I started to make peace with this, until suddenly, it felt ok. With the acceptance that they were all growing up and had their own lives, a huge shift occurred in me, and I realized [...]

Staying Calm, Keeping Balanced, Allowing for Reflection

2021-11-05T12:48:49+00:00

As we start to get back into the swing of Fall activities (at least those of us in the Northern hemisphere are), let us remember to not get so caught up in all the various commitments and/or responsibilities that come along with this time of the year that may cause us to become stressed and overly busy. And although we have missed out on many of the fun things we were used to doing, many of us have also enjoyed the slowing down –and used the time to rejuvenate our mind, body, and soul.  And if you feel bored or listless, remember how uplifting feeling relaxed and "just being" is. "Just being" offers our mind, body, and soul the energetic space to recalibrate - without us even being aware of it. And it puts us in a state where we can reflect. Modern life has often led us to ignore the reflective and feeling parts of ourselves. Our forced slowdowns this past year and a half have given us more time than usual to be calmer, more reflective, and opportunities to "just be." Links to 3 companion posts are at the end. To be happy and feel good we need to attend to our body, mind, emotions, and spiritual connection – and it is the subtler parts of ourselves that nurture these. The subtler parts of ourselves are more in tune with love – with a connection to our True Selves – to others – and everything around us. They are more based on our true reality. Being in tune with love and connected to our true reality, we navigate life adhering to love's qualities: kindness, sharing, compassion, acceptance, equality, unity, etc. We feel empowered – not in a striving for power way (based on a false strength) but from a place of inner strength (based on our true reality). This allows us to embrace the concept of me-and-you.  Humanity’s history has been based on false realities. Of separate motivations grounded in fear, greed, competition – on me-against-you. Fighting for our survival became paramount in our existence. We were reactive, rather than responsive. Although today most of us do not have to fight for our physical survival, we have maintained the competitiveness and reactive states of that survival mode. This, along with the disconnect from our True Self, has created stress and uneasiness in our beings. This has translated into the business and getting ahead ways of navigating life that has become the norm for many of us. The reactive way of navigating life that we inherited from past generations causes us to aggressively approach situations  – often bringing in past issues or being influenced by unaddressed emotions from our past – rather than responding calmly and only addressing what is currently happening. Our business, competitiveness, focus on getting ahead, and our reactive states have left no room to connect to our subtler and reflective natures – that are so important to our sense of well-being. This article/blog post is based [...]
